We would like to reactivate The Bread Oven and use it as a tool to bring people together. We want to ensure that The Oven becomes a part of the fabric of the Rietveld and Sandberg community again.

The project aims to cultivate cross-departmental knowledge-sharing and speculation on new possibilities we can come together for a collective moment of experience through cinema. "Ceremony: Hear the wind sing" will be the first part in an instalment of a long-term project within the Ceremony series.

CranberryJuice is an action based artist collective spreading awareness on all things relating to sexual inequality, medical misogyny and contraception. In late February of 2022 we will be hosting our first event in Amsterdam where we will present some of our own video works as well as curate an exhibition. The exhibition will go on for a week showing works from both inside and outside the Rietveld and Sandberg community, as well as performances and readings.
On the opening of the exhibition we will also host an informal panel discussion with guest speakers. They’ll be sharing their knowledge and opinions on topics such as male contraception, sex education and medical misogyny. We are building a small library corner at the venue with books and resources available for those interested in a deep dive into the subject.
We are currently in the process of publishing CranberryJuice's first Zine that will be launched and available to buy for a donation at the event. It is a publication with a variety of writers and artists to dive into personal thoughts and experiences relating to the broader topic of sexual inequality. Finally, we’ll bring together a group of students from the Rietveld and Sandberg community to perform the Vagina Monologues, an episodic play written by Eve Ensler.

“hold my hand let’s meet them by the speaker" is a series of performative lectures and events under the umbrella of club culture; reflecting on music, queer and feminist practices, and technology; becoming alive by hosting a lecture by Carlota Surós and Infinity Rug, a workshop by Lou Drago and Pedro Marum.

Hotel Mokum was a self-organised free space in the center of Amsterdam in a former (budget-)hotel, squatted for this purpose on the 14th of October ‘21. This action was born out of our desire to reclaim this empty hotel in an increasingly commercialized city center, and realise the ambitious dream of a cultural ‘free-space’. On Saturday 27th of November ‘21, after existing for six weeks, the squat got evicted by the municipality under the guise of fire safety. However, Hotel Mokum is not dead and there is more to come in ‘22.
With daring political discussions and an experimental cultural programming, consisting of accessible yet critical events and ambitious group exhibitions that loosely relate to everything Hotel Mokum represents, Hotel Mokum is many things in once: a place for activist knowledge creation; an active participant in the public debate on everything related to the housing crisis; a cadre for the free exchange between creative ideas and practical solutions; a house for some, and a hotel for the many.
